Sesjon 1+7: International ManagementAnsvarlig: Joyce Falkenberg, Universitetet i Agder Norway is a small nation with an open economy that is uniquely dependent on foreign markets for its survival. As such, Norway has a long tradition of trade and international activities; this has focused attention on competence within expertise in international management in many sectors. In addition to international trade and shipping, Norway is active in international economic development, promotion of human rights and international political co-operation. In focusing on international management, we focus attention to
organizations and their interactions with foreign governments, customers,
competitors, suppliers and employees, addressing not only the question of
why firms cross borders but also how they do it. Thus, international
management decisions encompass consideration of value creation and
positioning relative to both global and local environmental threats and
opportunities, as well as the organization of people and activities across
borders allowing for two-directional learning. International management
issues arise in private and public, profit and non-profit organizations, at
home as well as across nations. Issues of concern:
We invite to both theoretical and empirical contributions. Samleside for program og paper til alle sesjonene NEON International Management
